This course is designed to help get the participants to get started on their path to transitioning careers. If you want to change but aren’t sure where to start this course is for you. Transitioning begins with your skills and assessing what you must bring to a new industry. This easy course will help you understand how to assess your skills, identify gaps and put together a plan to close them.
V.J. Niles, MBA has been successfully providing trainings and presentations in academia and the corporate world for over 15 years. Having a career in information technology, higher education and human resources has allowed her to bring her vast knowledge to others. She understands how to chart a path that may start out in one direction and end up in another. Her use of effective communication skills allows V.J. to connect with her audience by presenting information in a clear and concise manner.
V.J. is the Immediate Past President of the New York City Professional Chapter of the National Association of Women MBAs and has been the Webmaster and Chair of the Economic Development Committee for the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Suffolk County Chapter, Inc. She is an innovator and former team lead and member of the Black Mastermind Group, Inc. and is a contributing author to "Just Me: The Business Woman's Personal Branding Guide". She frequently speaks for youth and women organizations regarding career strategy and development, STEM careers, branding and networking tips. Her speaking engagements have included Panasonic, Goodwill Industries, Winston Salem State University and Touro Graduate School of Business.
V.J. is an entrepreneur who utilizes her experiences to help others; is an owner and Executive Recruiter for Niles Executive Recruitment, The Niles Group and was co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Career Incubator, a career management site for professionals of color and women.
V.J. holds a MBA from Campbell University, a BA in African American Studies from Hunter College and a BBA in Business Computer Information Systems from Hofstra University. She is passionate about helping people advance in the Business and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) fields.
